A Commitment to Open Access

As a professor of Learning Design and Technology at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC USA, I teach classes in instructional design and development, media production, program evaluation and more. Beyond teaching about the field, I am actively involved in building learning materials and committed to open access to the materials I create. Some examples of my work are provided below.

An Introduction to Audio Recording

An Introduction to Audacity

Audacity Tutorials on YouTube
As a complement to the print based materials, I have created a series of short screencasts (video based tutorial) on Audacity and made them available on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/drjwinthrop.

International Education

In addition to my work with businesses and schools in the USA, I have worked around the world providing keynote talks and workshops on topics such as Open Educational Resources, Online Learning, STEAM Learning, and more. You can see more of my work at a companion website https://oertools.weebly.com. If you are interested in engaging me as a speaker or consultant, contact me through the email link below.

I am currently an international adviser with the GEIST Foundation (http://geistfoundation.org/).  The Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation (GEIST) is a foundation working around the world to improve education. With a focus on improving education while improving access, equity, gender equity, and learning strategies, the GEIST International Foundation continues to make positive impacts around the world.
